On May 5, 1993, three 8-year-old boys, Steve Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore, went missing in the early evening hours in West Memphis, Arkansas. Their bodies were found the next day submerged in a creek in a park-like area known as Robin Hood Hills. About a month later three suspects, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley, were arrested and charged with their murders. All three were convicted in early 1994. Chapter 14: Murder of teenage Riley Crossman

On May 7, 2019, Riley returned home from school at around 3:30 pm. She saw her mother taking a nap on the couch.Riley’s mother, Chantel, worked two jobs to make ends meet. On that day, Chantel wasn’t feeling  well. So, she left early from her first job to catch some sleep before starting the next one.After her mother went to work, Riley spent the evening with her grandmother. Then, she went to her room and stayed there.Chantel returned home at around 10:00 pm and saw Riley’s door closed. Assuming she was busy, Chantel went straight to bed. Chapter 12 : Chilling Letters Written By Chris Watts

In the early morning hours of August 13, 2018, in the small, quiet Colorado town of Frederick, after murdering his family, Chris Watts calculatingly and coldly put his girls in oil battery tanks and buried his pregnant wife in a shallow grave, then returned to work like nothing happened.Chris ultimately pled guilty to the murders, and he is currently serving multiple life sentences.
